Lindsay's Summer!

Hello familia!!

I love this blog idea. What a great way to stay more connected....other than our beloved Facebook. Haha. Just wanted to fill you all in on my upcoming summer! Yay!

I'll be heading to Des Moines, IA, in about 12 days (AAHH!!) to participate in an opera program out there. Yes, I know....corn country. Ha. It's a really big honor to be asked to participate and it's my first official professional gig. Pretty excited. We'll be performing three operas (Susannah, Le Nozze di Figaro, and Macbeth) and a ton of scenes from various operas. I have a TON of music to learn, but am ready and can't wait to get started. Please keep me in your prayers though....I hear they keep us singing from around 9am-11pm. Yowza. I'll let y'all know how it goes out there and will try and post some pics.

Then I head back to Augusta for a bit, then to Manhattan for the audition season, and then BACK to Augusta for the holidays and to sing the lead in The Augusta Opera's production of Suor Angelica. The opera will be the last two weeks of February (a change from September) and it's going to be pretty exciting. Please see if you can make it and let me know so I can reserve tickets!

I am very thankful for the upcoming work. It's been a long time coming, but it appears that my career may just be about to take off. What a true test of patience and in trusting that all is going to work out. Oh the waiting.....NOT a fan. Haha. But it's here and I am so thankful to have such an amazing family that loves and supports what I do. :)

I think that's about it for me. No relationship as of now, but I'm not worried about that. Not enough time. Haha.

Ok.....back to the music.... Love you all!

An update on Brooke and Kyle!!!

Well those of you who know who I am ignore the next paragraph. For those who don't keep reading...

My name is Anna Brooke O'Kelley, my maiden name is Jordan. My mom is Leslie Jeffares (maiden name Williams), and my nanny is Anne Williams, maiden name Groover. My dad is Bobby Jordan, which leads into the other side of my family which is completely irrelevant to this blog. My husband's name is Kyle Edward O'Kelley and we were married last October 17th on Jekyll Island. That same month we also baught a house in Lakehaven Sudivision in McDonough, GA.

We have two dogs, a yellow labrador retriever (1 1/2 years old), his name is Yeiger (means hunter in German - no not the drink) and a miniture daschund (7 months old), his name is Maverick and yes it came from Top Gun, Kyle's favorite movie. As far as children, it will probably be 4 more years before I even think about it :)

Kyle and I both work in Atlanta 5 days a week and it's not the most enjoyable commute... but as
I like to say it pays the bills and puts food on the table so we can't exactly complain. As of right now, we are really experiencing the whole outside yard work thing. Our lot is almost 2 acres so it definitly requires daily and I mean daily attention!

In our spare time we coach an 18 and under softball team in Henry County! That has been quite an experience for the both of us! Our favorite thing to do is go to Mom and Rick's beach/fishing house in Port Saint Joe, Florida. We love it down there! If you have never been you need to go! It's between Mexico Beach and Appilachicola (not sure on that spelling). We also love country music which leads us to go to a lot of country concerts! Keith Urban has by far been the best, and second to him was Martina McBride! Other than that we just love being married and love our kids (the dogs)!!!

Welcome!!

Remember when I got everyone's email address about 6 months ago?? Well, this blog is the reason. It's a way for all of us to stay in touch on what's going on in our lives. You can post what you've been up to b/c I've made everyone an author. Write what you've been up to, attach pictures, etc...

With life getting more and more hectic, I figured this would be a great way to connect as a family instead of the once in a while get togethers! I guess I'll be the first -

About a month ago, I quit my finance career and have been doing the wedding thing since. One in Montana (which was crazy) and then Doobie's!! Julie looked beautiful, Lindsay sang beautifully, and dad played the guitar the beautifullest (not a word I know). I've decided that I'm going to pursue a passion I've had for a long time; healthcare. I don't want to attend med school (wouldn't get out till I'm 40) but I've always loved it. I guess it comes from being around dad and being down at MUSC for most of my finance career. I'm going to get my Masters in Health Administration and probably do it online to save money and so I can stay in Charleston atleast for 1.5 - 2 more years. After that, who knows...

In the meantime, I'm picking which school I'm going to attend and looking for part time work. You know you can earn $12.50/hr being a pet sitter?? Amazing!

Relationship-wise (keeping this brief) - Britt and I have decided to go our separate ways for the time being but who knows what may happen in the future. Just taking some time working on ourselves...

So... Thats my life right now in a nut shell and I hope to hear from y'all soon!!
